Bible Voice Privacy Policy
Effective June 1, 2026
The short version
- Your recordings, transcripts, and notes live on your device, not our servers.
- There is no account and no login. We don't know who you are.
- We don't track you, show ads, or sell your data.
- When you generate an AI summary, your sermon transcript is sent to our summary service to be processed, then returned. We don't store it.
Who we are
Bible Voice is an iOS app built by an independent developer. It records sermons, transcribes them on your device, and helps you turn them into study notes.
What stays on your device
Everything you create stays on your iPhone:
- Audio recordings
- Transcripts and speaker names
- Notes, summaries, and any details you add
Transcription runs entirely on your device. Your audio is never uploaded.
When data leaves your device
Two features send limited data off your device:
- AI summaries. When you ask for a summary, the sermon transcript text (not the audio) is sent over an encrypted connection to our summary service, which uses a third-party AI provider to generate the notes. The transcript is processed to create your summary and is not stored by us.
- Subscriptions. Bible Voice Pro is handled by RevenueCat and Apple. They process your purchase and subscription status. We never see your payment details.
To keep the summary service fair and prevent abuse, your app sends a random app-generated identifier (stored only in your device keychain) so we can apply usage limits. It is not linked to your identity.
What we do NOT collect
- No accounts, names, or email addresses.
- No location, contacts, or health data.
- No advertising identifiers and no third-party tracking.
- No analytics that profile you.
Microphone
Bible Voice uses the microphone only while you are actively recording, so it can transcribe what you capture. Recordings are saved on your device.
Third-party services
- Apple — in-app purchases and subscriptions.
- RevenueCat — manages subscription status.
- AI summary provider — processes transcript text to generate summaries on request.
Your control and rights
Because your data lives on your device, you are in control. In the app, Delete All Data permanently removes every recording, transcript, note, and speaker. Deleting the app removes everything stored locally.
Security
Data sent for summaries travels over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Data on your device is protected by iOS.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
